-- PARKING: For everyones safety, please Park/Camp in the designated areas only (Posts laid out)
-- NOISE: We have neighbors at RPH (no noise after dusk) Please do not bother them.
-- ANIMALS: (wild & other) we do see wild animals from time to time at the shelter and bears have occasionally been sighted in the vicinity. Food should be stowed properly. (Dont feed the bears :) )
-- Security & Emergencies: Someone in charge will be onsite at all times. The East Fishkill Police Dept patrols the area, and we always inform them of our presence during the workparty (911 is the number to dial in an emergency, someone will have a cell phone available (the neighbors should not be disturbed except in a real emergency)
-- First aid kit onsite: In the big tent (please report all injuries - we will have 800# for National Park injury claims)
-- NO POWER TOOLS, PLEASE: Lets keep with the trail tradition.
-- Please help us get more donations and grants for future projects and comply with National Park insurance regulations by registering with us and the NY/NJ Trail Conference, when you Arrive (in the big tent); we really value your help. If you wish you can also sign up for Bascoms Free Quarterly RPH Newsletter that will debut this fall, bringing you news and pics off all things RPH and the AT.
These guidelines represent experience from past successful workparties. We get lots of work done, feed hungry hikers and have a great time, all without any problems or injuries, and we want to keep it that way for everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
